About Us
NMCS is operated by New Millennium Education Foundation. NMCS is a residential school located in the Leh district of UT Ladakh, India. The school was established by the Venerable Thubstan Wangchuk, a Tibetan Buddhist monk. His vision was to preserve Ladakhi and Tibetan cultural heritage and Buddhist lineage traditions by providing an innovative rural education model for first generation Scheduled Tribes learners from the most remote village communities in Ladakh.
Most of the children's villages lack access to modern resources and infrastructure (electricity, internet, education, road access, etc...). The school's purpose is to ensure that children from these districts have access to a leading-edge, relevant, and specialized education tailored to the unique needs of village children from Ladakh.

The school serves children from Pre-Nursery through Class 10 with the plan to extend the high school years through the entire Secondary Stage up through Class 12. The Middle Stage (Standard 6-8) and Secondary Stage (Standard 9-10) follows the CBSE curriculum method. NMCS is affiliated by CBSE.

NMCS is a tuition-free education including all educational expenses, the residential boarding and living costs, and concessional fees to those children coming from Scheduled Tribe backgrounds.
